Clinical Therapist

One of the most significant keys to a successful therapeutic relationship is finding a good fit between client and clinician. It may seem like there are a lot of rules about how you're “supposed” to heal, but humans are messy, complicated, and wonderfully inconsistent—which is part of the fun! In our sessions, we'll build a therapeutic relationship that works with your individual needs and acknowledges the way you actually experience the world.

I particularly enjoy working with people whose identities, relationship styles, sexuality, or lived experiences don't fit neatly into boxes. As a kink-friendly and sex-positive provider, I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients, people who practice polyamory or non-monogamy, and gender-nonconforming individuals. You shouldn't have to spend therapy explaining or defending who you are before we can get to the things that brought you through the door.

My approach is active rather than passive. I'll ask uncomfortable questions, offer direct feedback, and warmly challenge the places where you may be getting in your own way—but I'm not interested in making you feel bad about being human.  Odds are I'll make you laugh, too. I believe accountability and compassion can coexist, and that we can take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.

I draw from attachment-based, trauma-focused, psychodynamic, and systems approaches, along with CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems, and strength-based therapy. In simple terms: we'll explore where your patterns come from, build practical tools for navigating everyday stressors, challenge thoughts and behaviors that aren't serving you, and work toward creating a life that feels more aligned with who you are and what you value. I don't believe you need to fit neatly into one therapeutic model, so I'll pull from different approaches based on what you need.

I work with clients navigating anxiety, trauma, self-worth, relationship patterns, identity, communication, and the frustrating experience of understanding your patterns intellectually but still struggling to change them. Whether you're working through complicated family dynamics, building healthier relationships, or trying to feel more confident in your choices, we'll work together to understand what's happening and figure out what comes next.

I am continually working to practice in a way that is anti-racist and acknowledges the impact of marginalization and systemic inequity on our lives and mental health. My goal is to create a space where you can show up honestly—including the

complicated, messy, and less-polished parts of your experience. If you're looking for a therapist who will meet you with warmth, curiosity, directness, and genuine acceptance, I look forward to hearing from you!

I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology and my graduate degree in social work from The Ohio State University.
