Lisa Evans, MSW, LSW

School Social Worker

My name is Lisa Evans, and I am a licensed social worker (LSW). After obtaining my undergraduate degree in psychology, I received my masters in social work (MSW) at The Ohio State University.

During my education, I completed my practicum hours at Netcare, Inc. and in Mary Haven’s women’s program. At both places, I learned crisis management and gained a strong understanding of substance abuse and dual diagnosis. I prefer to utilize the cognitive behavioral approach (CBT) when helping people find their best self. The reason I became a social worker is the appreciation I have for the respect that the profession gives to each person as an individual. I believe that each person is the true expert in her/his/their own life. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults.

Most recently I have spent the past few years working in a K-8 elementary school. My experience working in schools has highlighted the joy that is found working with children and adolescents.

While away from the office I enjoy time spent with my family. I also enjoy any and all sporting events. Soccer, lacrosse, swimming, track, you name it and I enjoy it! I also look forward to the few times a year when I find time to read a good book.
