Child, Adolescent, and Adult Counseling
Linda Strapp, MSW, LISW-S

Clinical Therapist and Clinical Supervisor

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S). I enjoy working with adults, adolescents, and children. I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Level II trained therapist and also have Trauma Focused CBT training. With the focus of EMDR therapy being utilized for treating trauma, it also helps with people experiencing anxiety, anger, addiction, and depression.

The goal with EMDR therapy is for the client to begin experiencing less intensity and frequency of the symptoms that feel "stuck". There is often a justified fear of addressing trauma incidences and reliving the experiences; with the EMDR approach, you will process images and thoughts in a caring, compassionate, safe environment. I use a collaborative approach to help determine what strengths the client already has and develop new coping skills in order to begin feeling relief.

My 15 years of counseling include work experience with children and adolescents while at the Huckleberry House, Nationwide Children's Hospital MST program, and Mount Carmel Crime and Trauma. While at Mount Carmel, I worked with adults and facilitated groups for sexual assault survivors and parenting groups to help strengthen skills and understanding of their relationship with their child. In addition to specializing in EMDR, I have experience working with clients who are diagnosed with Dissociative Disorder.
