Child, Adolescent, and Adult Counseling
Jessi Carmichael

Clinical Therapist Intern

Hello! I’m a counselor-in-training, and I’m beyond excited to begin my practicum and internship here at Serenity Behavioral Health Services. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and I’m currently completing my graduate studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio.

My goal is to create a safe, affirming, and inclusive space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges. I believe the foundation of counseling lies in building authentic, collaborative relationships that honor each individual’s unique background, identity, and lived experiences.

I’m especially passionate about working with children and adolescents—meeting them with patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of their developmental needs. I look forward to working with adults across all stages of life and expanding my clinical experience.

I take a holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also incorporate mind-body techniques that support emotional awareness and regulation.

Looking ahead, I’m committed to lifelong learning, continuing to grow both personally and professionally so I can best support each client’s unique needs and goals with empathy, compassion, and competence.
