Child, Adolescent, and Adult Counseling
Camellia Branch, MSW, LSW

Clinical Therapist

Hello, my name is Camellia Branch and I have over 30 years of experience practicing Social Work.  I am currently a Clinical Social Worker. My professional background entails experience in both general and clinical social work.

My experience includes:

  • Clinical Social Worker in private practice
  • Case manager in a medical setting and homeless shelters.
  • Child welfare worker in County and Local government Children Services agencies
  • Non attorney representation, assisting individuals applying for Social Security benefits
  • Community Clinical Social Worker (outpatient in home care mental health counseling).
  • Supervisory experience in a social service setting.
  • Personal experience in family counseling, addictions and grief.

My professional and personal experience proves to be a valuable asset and assists me meeting the needs of those I serve.  My experience also allows me to serve others with compassion and empathy.  I am capable of serving diverse segments of population and a myriad of cultures, families, children, couples and groups located within Central and formerly Southwestern Ohio.

Associated with a private practice and supervised by an LISW-S; I am also a Christian, and bring that benefit to my practice.  Distressed families and their members, who have been gripped by life’s changing events have been guided to recovery; especially from addictions and loss/grief.  My dedicated involvement includes positive interaction with individuals (male and/or female), families, couples, including all cultures and races.

In my thirst for ongoing and increased knowledge and education, I am always seeking educational and everyday experiences to assist my clients in setting and meeting their goals.  Many resources/tools are utilized in my practice.  Open-mindedness and confidence that people can recover (my email includes that theme:  BranchtoRecovery).  My favorite tool is the Genogram. This tool delves into family dynamics; which I feel can aide in recovery.  It is my personal theory that persons seeking help with current issues, have childhood and/or family disorders in their personal history stemming from their family of origin.  If a client is ready to delve into their past; then a genogram is the preferred tool.  I believe that all who seek recovery have some personal strengths and those strengths aid in the client’s recovery.

I have always acknowledged God as my guide and I will continue that trend in therapy; if given a client’s permission. I believe that the Grace of God has sustained me through the effects of family addictions and other adverse situations in my own family and it has given me the ability to encourage others. I use CBT, Solution-focused therapy, my Christian experience and the client's personal inner strengths to move them from hopeless to hopeful.

My favorite movie is “You Can’t Take It With You”. (1938 - Frank Capra director).  In the movie, an actor uses the metaphor of a flower (a Lilly) to explain how he lives his life. The actor states, Lilies don’t worry.  They live their lives because God provides for them.“I want to be a Lilly!”

Engaging therapist who believes a sense of humor, good listening skills, a perceptive mind, and a caring attitude is the key to developing a positive therapeutic relationship. As a client, you will experience a safe, non-judgmental place in which to process and explore feelings (and maybe hear a Disney quote or two). It is my goal to provide my clients with the tools necessary to take charge of their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors – plus have a little fun, in the process.

I have years of experience working with Adolescents, Adults, LGBTQ, Couples, and Families in both rural and urban settings. My experience includes the utilization of individual and group outpatient services for Depression, Anxiety, Grief, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Substance Abuse, and Relationship Difficulties using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and a Solution Focused Strengths-Based approach. Helping people strengthen relationships and increase positive thoughts energizes my passion in the field of clinical social work.

My career began a little later in life, which provided for many experiences- both good and bad. Yes, I have a Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University, but more importantly, I have a degree in life’s ups and downs. I believe it is these experiences that have prepared me to help others. After all, "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." -- The Emperor (Disney’s Mulan) (And there is that Disney quote!)
