Jamie Theis, BA, CT

Clinical Therapist Intern

Hi! I’m Jamie, a counselor-in-training at Ohio University, working toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I care deeply about helping people recognize their strengths, feel more confident in who they are, and move toward the life they want.

I aim to create a space that feels laid-back, safe, and welcoming. Building a strong, genuine connection is really important to me, especially early on. We’ll have some tough moments, but there will also be room for lightness—and definitely laughter.

I work with adolescents and adults using an integrative approach, pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered, and strength-based perspectives. I see you as a whole person, and I want to understand your story and the experiences that have shaped you. We’ll go at your pace—you know your life best, and I’m here to work alongside you. That might mean processing something heavy, navigating a transition, or just getting to know yourself better.

We’ll also build practical skills you can use in your everyday life and relationships. Since everyone is different, I tailor sessions to fit you and often include worksheets or creative tools in ways that make things click. I love helping you notice your growth along the way so we can celebrate those steps together.
